Welcome to The Hurt, the toughest trail run in the South East!
The Hurt is named after the Hurtwood, a massive pine forest where Hurtle berries grow (seriously), that straddles the Greensand Ridge which runs parallel to the North Downs between Guildford and Dorking. Nicknamed Little Switzerland, the north side of the alpine-esq forest, gently gains height until the top of the ridge is reached. The South side, drops away dramatically down steep escarpments to the W.Sussex weald below. If you like running through pine forests, up and down the cool hidden gulleys, sunken sandy & rocky footpaths that criss cross the hill side and the vivid Autumn colours of the turning leaves, this trail run is for you!
10th October is the day for the best, the most beautiful, the friendliest, the toughest Autumn trail race!

0645: Registration opens (see below)

Parking: Free parking right next to the start line.
Registration: Collect your time chip / race number on the day. Nothing is posted to you pre event.
Toilets: On site.
Refreshments: On site.
3 water stations for the 21k. (5k, 13.5k, 18.5k)
2 water stations for the 15k (5k & 10k)
The route (links below): The route will have memories of the original Hurt route and with some new lung busting hills! The Hurtwood forest, rocks, mud, babbling brooks and a bit more mud…. You will need your trail shoes! It’s going to hurt…
There are road crossings and a short section of back road. Some - not all, of these locations will be marshalled. But it is always your responsibility to check its safe to cross. Expect to see cars and exercise caution!
Horses, mountain bikers, dog walkers: Always be aware of other land users. If approaching horses from behind, make yourself known in good time to avoid unwanted surprises! The area is popular with mountain bikers so please expect to see them.
